Microzide – Hypertension Treatment Drug
Diuretics and hypertension
Hypertension, or high blood pressure as it is most commonly called is a medical issue that has become the most lethal medical condition in the modern age. There are numerous contributors to high blood pressure and it is quite impossible to steer clear of all of them. Still, there is enough every one of us can do in order to prevent high blood pressure. The first advice would be to eat more healthy. Unhealthy food is one of the main contributors to hypertension, especially if the diet includes too much fatty or salty foods, if you eat too much precooked food or if you indulge too often in fast food. A healthier diet, including fresh produce, less cooked food and a more varied foods will do wonders in preventing high blood pressure. Another smart thing to do would be to exercise regularly, or at least to have a long walk each day. Too much sitting and lying can lead to hypertension. It would also be a good idea to try and reduce the exposure to stress. You should also stop smoking if you are a smoker and to limit your intake of alcohol. However, for some people, even all of this is not enough to reduce the blood pressure and for them, the medications are the only solution. One of the most common solutions and one that is most well-tolerated are diuretics which include Microzide.
What Microzide can do to help?
Microzide is a thiazide class diuretic and as such it inhibits the kidneys’ ability to retain water. There are many benefits that come out of this, such as reducing the pressure that is put on the blood vessels which leads to much easier blood flow. This reduces the blood pressure and reduces the risk of strokes, heart failures and heart attacks. Also, it is beneficial for treating edema that is caused by congestive heart failure and other problems with the blood pressure. In addition to this, Microzide can also be used in treating diabetes insipidus, osteoporosis, Dent’s disease and renal tubular acidosis, making it a very versatile medication. There are different mechanisms of action involved in treatment of all of these conditions and it would take too much space and time to explain them all. The important thing to know is that Microzide can help with all of these conditions. It should also be noted that in many cases, Microzide is combined with other medications that are also designed to treat certain medical conditions. For example, it is frequently combined with losartan in lowering the blood pressure, as losartan also lowers the blood pressure, but with a different mechanism of action than Microzide which is a diuretic. Of course, once you are prescribed with Microzide, you need to have a talk with your doctor about all the benefits and possible interactions or side effects of Microzide, which are mostly only minor ones that subside on their own given time.
