Inderal – all of its uses

Inderal is a beta-blocker and it was in fact the first beta-blocker to be developed. Due to its effect on certain receptors in the human body, Inderal has a number of potential uses and we will try to cover at least the most common ones.

The first use for Inderal is in treatment of high blood pressure, or hypertension as it is also known. In the last half a century or so, hypertension and conditions that are attributed to hypertension is responsible for more premature deaths than any other medical condition out there. However, due to some of its properties, Inderal can also be used in treating other conditions, such as tachyarrhytmias, migraines, cluster headaches, tension headaches, shaky hands, glaucoma and primary exertional headache while there has also been some research done in establishing the efficacy in treating different psychiatric conditions, such as psychogenic polydipsia, akathisia, post traumatic stress disorder and behaving aggressively because of brain injuries. There are other uses of Inderal that are also being researched at the moment and it is quite possible that it will be prescribed for even more conditions in the future. All of this makes Inderal a very versatile medication.

Taking Inderal to achieve the best results

There are some people who will not be able to use Inderal, namely people suffering from asthma, from any allergies to Inderal or any of its ingredients or people with certain heart conditions, such as second and third-degree heart block. Some other people will need to undergo certain tests so that they doctor can ascertain if an Inderal treatment would be the best course of action. This includes people suffering from emphysema, bronchitis, diabetes, low blood pressure, depression, thyroid disorder, pheochromocytoma, problems with circulation or any liver or kidney diseases. Once you start taking Inderal, you will need to follow the instructions that your doctor has given to you. You will need to take Inderal regularly as this ensures the best results. You should never make any changes to your regimen without discussing it with your doctor and you should not stop using this medication suddenly as you will risk suffering from unwanted effects. Inderal can interact with a number of medications and you should never combine it with any before your doctor has told you it will be safe.
