Use of Hytrin in treating high blood pressure

Some say that high blood pressure is a condition that is much more dangerous than most other medical conditions as it leads to more premature deaths than any other condition in the world. It is a condition that is symptomatic of the modern age in which we do not healthy enough, in which we spend most of our time either sitting or lying down, in which we do not indulge in nearly enough physical activities over the course of the day and the modern age in which stress is a constant ingredient of life. It almost seems as if modern life was specially designed to cause high blood pressure. And high blood pressure kills. It is responsible for a large majority of cardiac episodes, including strokes, heart attacks, arterial aneurysms and heart failures. Even those patients who have a moderately elevated blood pressure and who avoid any cardiac episodes can expect their life expectancy to be much shorter due to the high blood pressure. There are people for whom certain changes in lifestyle (healthier diet, more exercise) are enough to deal with high blood pressure. However, there are also people whose high blood pressure needs to be treated with medications and one of the medications that can be used for that purpose is Hytrin. It belongs to a group of drugs known as al[ha 1 antagonists and it works in such a way that it blocks the action of adrenaline on the walls of the blood vessels, thus relaxing them and leading to lower blood pressure.

Use of Hytrin in treating enlarged prostate

Enlarged prostate or benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) is a medical condition that affects a large percentage of male population. It is estimated that about half of male population suffers from enlarged prostate by the age of 50, while it increases to 75% by the age of 80. However, only in about half of those men, enlarged prostate is clinically significant, meaning that it has any effect on their health. The exact causes for this condition are yet unknown but the symptoms are very well known. Some of the most important symptoms include troubles urinating due to the pressure that prostate puts on the urethra, painful urination, frequent urination, urinary hesitancy and urinary retention. As more and more urine gets accumulated in the bladder, the risk of urinary tract infections is also increased, as more and more bacteria are present in the bladder. In most severe cases, urinary retention can even lead to renal failure, which is a very serious condition in which your kidneys are unable to perform their duty, which can lead to even more serious conditions and complications. Hytrin does not have an effect on the prostate itself, but it relaxes the prostate and the neck muscles on the bladder, again by blocking the adrenaline and thus improving the flow of urine and facilitates the emptying of the bladder. It also has an effect on excessive urination during night.
