About Us
Doctors On Call provides walk-in urgent care and appointment based family practice medical services to residents and visitors of Virginia Beach. We currently have six Physicians with combined experience of over 100 years. In addition, there are six Nurse Practitioners/Physician Assistants to help ensure quality care for our patients. Our extensive services leverage state of the art EMR and include on site labs, x-ray, audiometry, bone-density, and minor surgical capabilities.
Doctors On Call also maintains a close relationship with Medical Research Initiatives (MRI). MRI is a multidisciplinary clinical research firm that specializes in phase II-IV clinical studies at our Kempsville location. All Providers are welcome to work with MRI and support the study activity. Current or recent studies include: Diabetes, Anemia, Hypertension, Acute Coronary Syndromes, Congestive Heart Failure, Asthma, Musculoskeletal Pain and more.
Hours of Operation:
Mon-Fri: 8AM - 8PM
Sat & Sun: 9AM - 4PM
- Full or part-time Family Physician
- Weekday and/or weekend slots available
- Full Reception and Medical Assistant support
- Opportunity to work in Urgent Care setting to help grow/maintain practice
- Opportunity to engage in phase II-IV clinical trials
- Board Certified/Board Eligible in Family Practice, Emergency Medicine, Med-Ped
- Licensed to practice in the State of Virginia, without restriction, probation, or limiting condition or threat thereof
- Possess a valid, unrestricted DEA license or registration to prescribe drugs, medication, pharmaceuticals, and controlled substances
- Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license
- Pass background checks and pre-employment drug-screening

Front Desk – Patient Care Coordinator
Doctors On Call currently has an opening for a Front Desk- Patient Care Coordinator. We are looking for an energetic individual who loves working with people and is willing to work in a professional collaborative environment. This position provides the employee with the ability to work in a team environment. Doctors On Call is a growing Urgent Care and Family Practice business with two locations in Virginia Beach. Performs assigned tasks including but not limited to:- Greet Patients in a friendly and professional manner
- Check patients in to be seen
- Check Patients out
- Collect co-pays and office visit amounts
- Balancing financial logs
- Answering multi-line phone system
- Calling-in prescriptions
- Scheduling specialist appointments
- Contacting insurance companies
- Filing and Faxing
- Copying medical records
- Completion of a vocational/technical healthcare program and/or minimum 6 months experience in the medical front office environment.
- Knowledge of Medical Terminology
- Familiar with HIPAA Regulations
- Must be detail orientated
- Must have a strong ability to multi-task
- Strong customer service, interpersonal skills required
- Bilingual is a Plus

Medical Assistant
Doctors On Call currently has an opening for a Medical Assistant. We are looking for a dynamic individual who loves what they do and is willing to work in a professional collaborative environment. This position provides the Medical Assistant with extensive training which is a perfect opportunity to work as a highly respected Medical Assistant in the health care field. Doctors On Call is a growing Urgent Care and Family Practice business with two locations in Virginia Beach. Leverage your skills with our in house laboratories and diverse service offerings
Performs assigned tasks including but not limited to:- Interviews patients, measures vital signs, and records information in the medical record
- May be required to conduct medical testing, draw blood samples from patients and prepare patients for examination
- Performs comprehensive testing according to written protocols or as ordered by physician/nurse practitioner
- Prepares treatment rooms for examination of patients and performs a variety of tasks to assist in patient care and to assure quality of care
- Maintains inventory of laboratory supplies and equipment
- Enters data into the computer to maintain office and medical records
- Travel to each Virginia Beach location as may be required
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
- Completion of a vocational/technical healthcare program. Certification as a medical assistant and/or 6 months experience as a medical assistant, certified nursing assistant or phlebotomist may be acceptable substitute for formal education in this entry level position; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Must be detail orientated
- Must have the ability to multi-task
- Strong customer service, interpersonal medical skills required
- Bilingual is a Plus

X-Ray Tech
Doctors On Call currently has an opening for a full or limited Radiologic Technologist. We are looking for a self motivated individual who loves what they do and is willing to work in a team environment. Along with the opportunity to X-ray a variety of anatomical areas, this position also provides the Tech experience in other areas of the medical field. Doctors On Call X-ray Techs work side by side with the Medical Assistants to provide excellent patient care. Doctors On Call is a growing Urgent Care and Family Practice business with two locations in Virginia Beach. Leverage your skills with our diverse patient population.
Performs assigned tasks including but not limited to:- Conduct general diagnostic radiological imaging studies of patients within scope of demonstrated competency, to include operation of equipment, development of films and preparation of patient room/equipment/medications
- Records Management and General Filing
- Interviews patients, measures vital signs, and records information in the medical record
- Performs comprehensive testing according to written protocols or as ordered by physician/nurse practitioner
- Prepares treatment rooms for examination of patients and performs a variety of tasks to assist in patient care and to assure quality of care
- Maintains inventory of laboratory supplies and equipment
- Enters data into the computer to maintain office and medical records
- Travel to each Virginia Beach location as may be required
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
- Must have successfully completed a Radiologic Technology program and have Virginia license as Rad Tech or Rad Tech-Limited
- Must be detail orientated
- Must have the ability to multi-task
- Strong customer service, interpersonal medical skills required
- Self Motivated and Willing to learn other aspects of the Medical Profession
